Smart Edge, Intelligent Cloud Architecture
PlaxidityX has announced that its vCore Vehicle Cyber Protection system won the Cybersecurity Excellence Award in the 2026 AutoTech & Wards 10 Best Awards program, announced at an industry event in Michigan. The vCore system is built on the company’s Vehicle Detection and Response (VDR) platform, designed to secure a vehicle’s digital backbone from edge to cloud.
The system’s key innovation is its Smart Edge, Intelligent Cloud architecture, which addresses what PlaxidityX calls the automotive data paradox. While traditional solutions stream terabytes of raw logs to the cloud, generating excessive noise and false positives, vCore qualifies and filters data at the source using edge intelligence.
Impact on OEM Security Operations
This approach slashes OEM connectivity and storage costs by up to 80% and reduces alert volumes that often cause security operations center (SOC) teams to miss critical incidents. PlaxidityX CEO Ronen Smoly noted that OEMs struggle with fragmented cybersecurity toolsets that generate excessive noise, false positives, unsustainable telemetry costs, and severe alert fatigue.
The vCore system unifies in-vehicle security sensors with intelligent edge management and cloud-based analytics, fusing detection, prevention, and response into a single infrastructure. For automotive security engineers and OEM teams, this represents a shift toward cost effective, manageable vehicle cybersecurity that reduces vendor sprawl while neutralizing complex threats targeting connected vehicles.
